Investing in new energy is not only a smart thing to do but a profitable one as well. The challenging part of investing in energy is entering into the new prospect as it is still on the ground floor of the development process. It needs to be safe for the environment and have enough room for growth and improvement that the investor is able to take advantage of the early explosion a new and successful investment will experience. Bio Fuels are exactly the energy investment that can make this scenario happen.

As more and more secondary energy sources are being explored, things like Bio Fuels are starting to come to light as renewable energy sources that, if developed properly, can make the world a more environmentally-friendly place to live as well as provide a successful source of investments. It is yet another untapped resource in the Western World that is finally coming to light. For the most part, Bio Fuels are inexpensive to produce; it is just a matter of refining the process.

When it comes to creating new and exciting opportunities for investors, the time is now for Bio Fuels. Because these fuels are derived from sources such as oil-bearing crops, it literally comes from the seed of earth and will dramatically decrease the level of tailpipe pollution that is currently being produced. Bio Fuels are also being created from products that would normally be wasted, such as scrapings from grease traps in restaurants, so they solve the problem of what to do with what normally would be considered waste material.

Something else to consider is that Bio Fuels can also play an integral role in the recovery of the economy. The economic downturn has affected every industry including farming. Because Bio Fuels can be derived from many farmed crops, this fuel source will, in essence, give a boost to a variety of industries. While farmers and transportation will reap the most rewards, the trickle-down effect that other industries will eventually see will be quite noticeable.

While there are plenty of investments to be made in “green energy sources,” true environmental investors will have a hard time looking past Bio Fuels as a great way to invest their money. While other “green” sources are great for the environment, they do not make use of a waste product that would otherwise be creating a problem in regards to disposal. Think about all of the restaurants that are currently in operation and how much animal fat is used and discarded during the cooking process.  Bio Fuels present a legitimate use for that type of waste. Instead of being put into barrels and dumped in a landfill, it can now be put to good use in an economical fashion that provides a renewable source of energy for all.  

Bio Fuels are fuel sources that basically come in two different forms: Ethanol and Biodiesel.  Ethanol is derived from plants that are carbohydrate-rich and farmed in great numbers in the United States. Crops such as sugarcane and corn are perfect examples of contributors to this form of energy. Biodiesel is derived from oil-bearing crops like soybeans and can also be made out of animal fat. The common form of this is what is found in many of the grease traps and deep fryer disposal drums used in the food service industry.

Currently, Ethanol is the more popular of the two and has been increasing its niche as a legitimate alternative to standard gasoline since the passing of the Energy Policy Act of 1992. This alternative fuel cuts down on tailpipe pollution and is becoming more commonly used as the auto industry reacts to the government’s desire to create a safer environment. While this source of energy is further developed than biodiesel, there is still plenty of room for improvement. Bioethanol is currently being explored (it is derived from various trees and grass), but the process is more involved and needs to be more cost-effective.

Biodiesel development is still in its infancy stages compared to Ethanol but it shows a great deal of promise and may be where current investors will make the bulk of their profits. This first entered into the spotlight a few years ago when a news show did a human interest piece about a gentleman from the Mid West who was literally powering his vehicle from the grease that was being discarded from local restaurant fryers. It has since gained recognition as a truly viable energy source for cars.

Biodiesel technology has grown by leaps and bounds over the last decade and now presents the world with a legitimate energy source that will not only power a vehicle but create a longer lifespan of that vehicle as well. Biodiesels also serve as a lubricant because of its makeup and allows the engine to run smoother and last longer. The challenge in producing this for mass consumption lies with the auto makers.

As Biodiesel becomes more cost-effective to produce, it slowly but surely is sneaking its way into the world as a legitimate energy source to power engines. Currently, a diesel engine can run on biodiesel with little or no modifications. This makes it extremely attractive as a secondary source of gas for diesel car owners that is much “greener” than standard diesel fuel.

Between Ethanol and Biodiesel, the world is being presented with two viable options to power our vehicles and cut down on tailpipe pollution. This is an industry that will literally explode in the upcoming years as technology allows the production of both of these fuels to be more cost effective and make them more readily available. Because of the pace of technological advances, there is no time like the present to invest in Bio Fuels.  

Bio Fuels present the investor with a very unique opportunity. There are several things that make this an extremely attractive investment in the energy sector. We all know that the government is pushing for more environmentally-friendly sources of energy and this is obviously a great solution to these requests. The other factors that will position this as a legitimate energy source include creating massive amounts of domestic jobs as well as providing a use for what was once considered waste material.

The government is pursuing alternative energy sources like never before. It is literally throwing hundreds of millions of dollars into research to find better sources of energy that will preserve our fossil fuels and allow the environment to recover from the abuse of the last century. The recent $19.5 million funding of the Energy Frontier Research Center is only one example of the amount of money that is being poured into this initiative. Of course, this does not include all of the research that is being done by private industries so that their companies can be the first in line when Bio Fuels hit the fuel market as a primary energy source instead of the secondary source that they are now.

Any energy source is an intelligent investment right now but Bio Fuels are particularly attractive because of the energy niche that they fill. People are going to drive cars, operate machinery and travel. If Bio Fuels continue to be developed as rapidly as they have been over the last two decades, it is only a matter of time before cars are pulling up to the station and filling their gas tanks with either Ethanol or Biodiesel.

All one has to do is take a step back and look at the possibilities of capturing just a small portion of that market and it’s easy to see just how profitable it can be along with the potential that exists for unlimited growth. The fact that parts of the world that used to be considered Third World nations are now being developed into tourist destinations is only going to increase the need for fuels. As the technology improves and the market demand increases, investors can sit back and watch their profits skyrocket. This energy source is barely tapped in regards to the market share that it can possess and, as it grows over the next few years, investors will likely see a massive return on their initial investment.

You do not have to be a genius to realize how harmful normal gas emissions in automobiles have been to the environment. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic knows the dangers that can be presented from tailpipe pollution. As the population grows around the world, many governments have decided to place a significant amount of pressure on energy companies to find alternative sources of fuel for our engines.

Right now, the best solution would seem to be Bio Fuels. Whether people are using Ethanol or Biodiesel makes no difference because both of them are safe for the environment. They dramatically cut down and eliminate tailpipe pollution and come from things such as soy beans and corn. What is being released into the environment will no longer do any harm and that is a very attractive prospect.

While Bio Fuels once seemed like the dream of a mad scientist, the technology in this energy niche has improved by leaps and bounds over the past couple of decades. What once seemed like a pipe dream has now become a reality and our environment as a whole is going to be much better for it. This is becoming a very attractive alternative to the standard gasoline that is currently being use to power engines of all types.

Biodiesels in particular are being examined because of the growth potential and the specific impact that they will have on the environment as a whole. While biodiesels are created from certain crops, they can also be derived from waste. The food industry produces tons and tons of barrels of animal fat that up until now had very little use. The runoff from the grills and fryers that would normally be a disposal issue now has a purpose.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that oil can be taken directly from a restaurant and poured into a diesel engine to power it because that is not the case. The oils have to go through a refining process, but once that has been completed and approved, it is very much a source of energy that can power an engine. This is solving two problems at one time as there is less waste generated and our air gets cleaner because of a green energy source. This is one of many of the environmental benefits that will drive Bio Fuels through the 21st century as a premier source of fuel for our engines.
